A Life of Service to Others

Ryan Morgan

Ryan Morgan has committed his 25-year career to protecting and serving on the frontlines. Public service has been his calling since he started volunteering as a first responder at 16 and a firefighter at 18 before becoming a sworn police officer. He got his start with the City of Madison Police Department and then continued it with the City of Lawrenceville Police, where he worked for 22 years before retiring as a Captain. In that time, Ryan managed and supervised all aspects of the department, including budgeting and policy development and implementation.

Now, after 25 years of service, he’s running for Sheriff to protect the citizens of Morgan County. As Sheriff, Ryan will respect the past while moving us forward to keep families safe and provide the very best service to our citizens. He will be laser-focused on protecting Morgan County families and businesses from the Metro Atlanta crime wave that is quickly advancing our direction. We simply cannot afford to fail at this mission, and Ryan Morgan is the candidate with the training, knowledge, and professional experience to get the job done.

In addition to his real-world experience fighting crime, Ryan received his degree in Criminal Justice, a Masters of Public Safety Administration, and is a certified P.O.S.T. General instructor and Driving (PIT) Instructor. Ryan was also selected to attend the 242nd session of the FBI National Academy, the most prestigious law enforcement school in the world where he trained with some of the most elite officers in the world.

Ryan Morgan has been proud to call Morgan County home for 37 years. He has been married to his wife Rebecca (Roling), a Morgan County native and Special Education teacher at Morgan Co. Elementary School, for 20 years. They have three children, Christopher (17), Colton (15), and GeorgiaAnn (10), who all attend Morgan County schools. Ryan spent many years coaching baseball, football, and softball for Morgan County and can regularly be found on the sidelines at Morgan County High School football games.. The Morgan’s have been members of Centennial Baptist Church in Rutledge.

I don’t want Morgan County to become the next Henry, Newton, Rockdale, or Gwinnett. I’m running to be your next Sheriff to make sure it doesn’t. I’ll put my 25 years of professional law enforcement experience to work to stop the Atlanta crime wave at the county-line. I am the candidate who has the knowledge, training, and experience to get the job done and keep Morgan, Morgan.”

Ryan Morgan's Top Priorities

Keep Our Kids & Families Safe

It has been my life’s mission to serve people and keep them safe. As your Sheriff, I will not allow our county to become a place where our kids are scared to go to school or where our friends and neighbors are scared to go to the store. I will increase training for deputies and staff to keep our schools the safest they can be, and I will promote better training and increase patrols to keep our community safe.

Stop Crime At the County Line

We can’t let Morgan County become the next Henry, Newton, Rockdale, or Gwinnett. As Sheriff, I’ll put more deputies on patrol to prevent and deter crime, and I will make sure our Deputies continue to know Morgan County will always have their backs. We will also continue to recruit and retain the most talented officers with competitive pay and benefits they deserve.

Put Our Citizens First

I will be a Sheriff who citizens know they can rely on in their darkest hour or in their brightest moments. I will lead by example so that the Deputies who protect and serve the families of Morgan County know that the citizens and their needs will always come first. To protect taxpayers, I will utilize my budget and leadership experience to make sure we are always good stewards of your tax dollars. To make sure the Sheriff’s Office remains accountable to you, I will also create an Office of Professional Standards to investigate citizen complaints and ensure we do thorough background checks on all new employees for the Office.

Lead with Professionalism and Integrity

I will continue moving the Sheriff’s Office forward and promote a high degree of professionalism and integrity. By fighting for competitive pay and ensuring our officers and staff continue to get the respect they deserve, I will work to recruit and retain the very best. And I will work to secure State Certification for the Sheriff’s Office through the Georgia Law Enforcement Certification Program to provide a standard for operating procedures and reduce liability for the county while ensuring the Office performs at the highest level to better serve the citizens.

Fight Back Against Anti-Police Radicals

As Sheriff, Morgan County will have a zero-tolerance policy for those who want to terrorize our community. As radical politicians coddle criminals at all costs, I will stand strong against any weak-on-crime policies that will put our safety at risk.

Stand Strong Against Illegal Immigration

As Sheriff, I will send a clear message to the criminal illegal aliens flooding across our border that Morgan County is no safe haven for them. Upon taking office, I will immediately begin steps to implement the federal 287(g) Program that will allow us to deport criminal illegals in our community.
